“And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.” (Isaiah 22:22 KJV)

Do you understand the authority which you have been given in Christ? Contrary to what you think about yourself you are not some weak religious person with an escapist mindset just waiting for Jesus to part the clouds and beam you up. No that’s not what you’ve been called to in Christ at all, but you have been given the authority to reign in every area of your life by Jesus Christ(see Romans 5:17). Today you must begin demonstrating that authority on a daily basis because your ability to live out your victory depends on it.

In this text found in the book of Isaiah, God declares that the Messiah would be given a mantle of royal authority which endows him with the ability open doors that no man can shut and shut doors that no man can open. This endowment of authority was then imparted to those redeemed by Jesus Christ that’s why Jesus declared, “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven (Matthew 16:19 KJV)." The reason why so much havoc is occurring in the world since the people of God are not using the keys that they’ve been given to destroy the works of the devil. Properly executed authority will liberate the souls of men from the devil’s despotic rule.

Isaiah declared, “THE SPIRIT of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed and qualified me to preach the Gospel of good tidings to the meek, the poor, and afflicted; He has sent me to bind up and heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the [physical and spiritual] captives and the opening of the prison and of the eyes to those who are bound (Isaiah 61:1 AMP)." Within the framework of the gospel is the power to set men free from the penalties of sin. Paul knew about these powerful keys were capable of when he declared, “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel (good news) of Christ, for it is God’s power working unto salvation [for deliverance from eternal death] to everyone who believes with a personal trust and a confident surrender and firm reliance, to the Jew first and also to the Greek(Romans 1:16 AMP)," With the keys that God has given us we can see people healed, delivered and totally set free to live the abundant life in Christ (see John 10:10). Today take your keys and declare today a day of independence from the devil everywhere that you go.
