“Watch for the new thing I am going to do. It is happening already-you can see it now! I will make a road through the wilderness and give you streams of water there.” (Isaiah 43:19 GNT)
What’s new? I’m pretty sure that at some point in your life you’ve been asked that question in the midst of casual conversation and your response was either a nonchalant, “Nothing much” or a complete update of your recent life events. Well, in the Body of Christ this question is being asked a lot, but interestingly enough some people don’t know how to answer it. As a matter of fact, some people dispute the fact that a “new” even exist. After all, “there is no new thing under the sun(Ecclesiastes 1:9)”, right?
While most would view the current condition of our world with a certain degree of pessimism, the Holy Spirt led child of God is optimistic because of what God has revealed to them regarding the coming days. Let’s take note of what Paul says to the Church at Corinth:
“But as it is written in the Scriptures: “No one has ever seen this, and no one has ever heard about it. No one has ever imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” But God has shown us these things through the Spirit. The Spirit searches out all things, even the deep secrets of God (1 Corinthians 2:9-10 NCV)."
Perceiving the new thing that God is birthing begins with being filled with His Spirit and developing a sensitivity to His leading. That’s right, you must have a spiritual ear to hear , a spiritual eye to see and a heart to receive what God is speaking and showing His people. As God begins to intimately reveal what is on His heart with you it will cause a higher degree of faith to arise within your heart further enabling you to walk by faith and see the impossible become possible on a more consistent basis.
As I’ve often said, “God is always speaking, but we’re not always listening to His frequency.” Today, I want you to be determined to see what God sees and to speak what He speaks, by developing a more intimate fellowship with your Heavenly Father. Enter that place of true intimacy with God where you share one heartbeat with Him and have a constant awareness of His presence not only around you, but more importantly in you.
