“For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.” (2 Corinthians 1:20 ESV)
When God makes you a promise then you can bank on the fact that it will most certainly happen. He has a reputation to protect that’s why the scripture states, “God is no mere human! He doesn’t tell lies or change his mind. God always keeps his promises (Numbers 23:19 CEV)." Through Isaiah God says, “That’s how it is with my words. They don’t return to me without doing everything I send them to do(Isaiah 55:11 CEV)." God is the ultimate promise keeper. We’ve all had experiences with people that have made us promises, but haven’t kept them. However, God proves himself trustworthy no matter what.
Peter tells us that, “God made great and marvelous promises, so that his nature would become part of us. Then we could escape our evil desires and the corrupt influences of this world(2 Peter 1:4 CEV)." God didn’t make us these promises for his own sake, but he had our best interest at heart when he made these divine decrees long ago. He promised us healing because contrary to what religious people say our infirmities don’t bring any glory to God. His reputation is better among unbelievers when we experience the manifested promise of divine health and healing. He promised us divine provision because contrary to what is being taught in some groups there is no such thing as the spiritual gift of poverty. I don’t need the Holy Spirit to be impoverished and poverty is no badge of super-spirituality. God loves it when we can pay our bills and finance ministry ventures.
Jesus said “Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom(Luke 12:32 ESV)." We are not part of a tyrant’s kingdom where the only one doing well is the king. We learn from the scriptures that Jesus is the King of Kings and through Jesus that we are destined reign in this life as kings according to Romans 5:17. God’s promises help us to become who we are destined to be in Christ. Each step of the way God is assisting us that’s why Peter states, “For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue)(2 Peter 1:3 AMP)." God has not only given us a destination to reach, but He has also given us the tools to make it there successfully. Today have faith for the fulfillment of God’s promises because I can guarantee you that you won’t be disappointed.
