“What can we say about all this? If God is on our side, can anyone be against us?” (Romans 8:31 CEV)
Did you know that God is on your side? That’s right, you never stand alone, but the God of the whole universe who loves you so much is standing with you. Today get this truth into your head and into your heart because it will revolutionize your faith. Many people think that God is mad at them and they have to beg for his attention, but in truth He is madly in love with you and he’s so close that he now lives in you. Jesus even said, “The people who obey God’s commands live in God, and God lives in them. We know that God lives in us because of the Spirit God gave us(John 3:24 NCV)." If you have the Holy Spirit inside of you then you don’t have to find the right song or scripture to conjure God up and lure him into your midst because God is already there. The idea that God has to be summoned by “spiritual” actions was created by people who can’t believe how easy it is to really have unbroken communion and fellowship with God, but “anyone who is joined to the Lord is one in spirit with him(1 Corinthians 6:17 CEV)."
If we want to experience the fullness of what it means to be a child of God then we must stop putting up these invisible barriers in our hearts that are formed by man-made doctrines based in fear and not true faith. The idea of a distant God who is somewhat indifferent to His creation unless they can “do something” to catch his attention has hindered many from having effective prayer lives. Many people make prayer seem like a game of craps where all we seem to do is roll our dice hoping that our number comes up and we get our answer, however Jesus never taught this. In one of Jesus’ many teachings on prayer, he says, “For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it] (Matthew 11:24 AMP)." Someone might say, “C’mon prayer can’t really be that easy,” but according to Jesus it is because faith declares that “God is on our side.” I’m not begging God for anything that His word says that I can have because I have complete confidence that hears me and that my prayers are already answered. John teaches, “And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us. And if (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted us as our present possessions] the requests made of Him (1 John 5:14-15 AMP)."
You are special to God. See yourself as one of God’s favorite children. I say “one of God’s favorite children” because God doesn’t have any “black sheep” in His family and so all of His children are blessed and highly favored. Refuse to accept any teachings that are contrary to what God’s word says about who you are and what you possess in Christ. Let the redemptive truths of the word of God liberate you from religious bondage and low self esteem. Walk in a richer and more intimate relationship with your heavenly Father because God is not far, but he’s actually a lot closer than you think and He is on your side.
“Lord, your love fills the earth. Teach me your demands. You have done good things for your servant, as you have promised, Lord.” (Psalm 119:64-65 NCV)
A lot of times we are so quick to complain about the problems that occur in our lives, but how fast would we be willing to give God praise for the good that he has done for us. We must be willing to recognize the fact that whether we’ve been going through trouble for a day or for a year our problems are only temporary and if God blessed us before then he’ll be faithful to bless us again. In the tough times we need to remain firm in our faith by remembering past victories and expecting new ones.
No one likes to suffer, but if we must go through then let us go through with the Lord leading us and protecting us so that we can share the testimony of the psalmist who wrote, “Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort me(Psalm 23:4 AMP)." As Paul tells us, “God is faithful (reliable, trustworthy, and therefore ever true to His promise, and He can be depended on); by Him you were called into companionship and participation with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord(1 Corinthians 1:9 AMP)." The faithfulness of God is something that we can have full confidence in because he will disappoint those that trust him as the psalmist also declares, “they are not put to shame in evil times; in the days of famine they have abundance(Psalm 37:19 ESV)." Get excited because you about to experience a great breakthrough.
“Wait for the Lord’s help. Be strong and brave, and wait for the Lord’s hep.” (Psalm 27:14 NCV)
Today, If you find yourself in a tough position where you may be experiencing problems of all sorts then I want to encourage you and let you know that help is on the way. James admonished us, “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing(James 1:2-4 ESV)." That’s trouble is not desired by anyone, but it gives you the opportunity to build your faith muscles. We know that we feed our faith with the word of God according to Romans 10:17, but just like in the natural if a person eats the right food without exercise they’ll become overweight with weak muscle strength. It’s the same way in the spirit. I can read and study the word of God, but without application my faith will be weak and not capable of much. James also puts it this way, “Anyone who doesn’t breathe is dead, and faith that doesn’t do anything is just as dead(James 2:26 CEV)!"
Today raise your level of divine expectation. Remember the testimonies as recorded in the bible because it reminds you of the faithfulness of God. Isaiah prophesied, “But the people who trust the Lord will become strong again. They will rise up as an eagle in the sky; they will run and not need rest; they will walk and not become tired (Isaiah 40:31 NCV)." That’s right! As you wait in faith expecting for God to act in your life expect new strength to come to you that will enable you to endure and live the abundant life that Jesus came to give us. As this is happening you will get excited and declare,”Our God is doing this! We have waited for him, and he has come to save us. This is the Lord. We waited for him, so we will rejoice and be happy when he saves us(Isaiah 25:9 NCV)." Today may God release his delivering power into your life.
“Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.” (Colossians 3:1-4 NLT)
We have been raised to new life in Christ and so we are now living the Christ-life which lives focused on heaven’s realities. According to heaven’s realities we walk in divine health (see 1 Peter 2:24). According to heaven’s realities our every need has already been supplied(see Philippians 4:19). However, the realities of heaven can only be experienced by faith.
Today, renew your mind with God’s word and let heaven’s realities change your environment. As you embrace the Christ-life you will walk in complete deliverance. As you walk in the Christ-life your failures will be seen only as preludes to success and victory(see 1 John 5:4). Even when it seems like your going through a tough time in life you will choose to remind yourself of God’s promises through his word and constantly strengthen your heart until breakthrough comes (see Psalm 23; Psalm 27:14). Your negative circumstances are not God’s best for you and you must understand this. Paul teaches, “God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation](2 Corinthians 9:8 AMP)." Today enjoy the Christ-life.
